The crash happened at 4:19 a.m. at the intersection of Kings Highway and Janes Lane, Pennsylvania State Police in Fogelsville said. The driver, who was the only occupant of the 2014 Toyota Sienna, was pronounced dead at 5:21 a.m. at the scene, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
An autopsy is set for Tuesday, Dec. 3, to determine the cause of death. While a tentative identification has been made, officials said the man’s name will not be released until a positive identification is confirmed and his family is notified. This process could take several days due to the severity of fire-related trauma, the coroner's office added.
The crash shut down the roadway for several hours as police and forensic investigators worked the scene. The road reopened at approximately 8:10 a.m. The investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
